Ricoh Electronics, Inc. (“REI”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Notice (the “Notice”) states how REI collects, stores, processes, uses, and discloses Personal Information in the United States, and about your rights with respect to your Personal Information within REI’s control. Other REI affiliates publish privacy notices concerning how they use personal information.

REI has provided additional information for California residents at the end of this Notice to describe our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of their Personal Information.

Changes to REI’s Privacy Policy

REI’s business evolves constantly to meet the needs of its customers and to respond to changing business conditions, including new legal and regulatory requirements. REI may revise this Privacy Notice at any time. Revisions to this Notice are effective when posted on this website on the date stated in the revision itself. REI will not change this policy retroactively. In addition, if we significantly change how we collect, use, or transfer your Personal Information, we will update this policy and may contact you by email sent to the address we have on file for you or by means other than this policy to inform you about those changes and in some cases, to request your consent to the changes.

Please review this Notice whenever you provide any Personal Information to REI. Providing your Personal Information to REI after any changes or revisions to this Privacy Notice constitutes your acknowledgement that the Personal Information you provide is subject to the revised terms of this Notice.

Overview

As used in this notice, “Personal Information” means information, in any form, that concerns you or any identified or identifiable person, including information that: (a) identifies, describes, or otherwise pertains to an identified or identifiable person; (b) is subject to regulation as personal information or personal data under laws or regulations governing the collection, processing, disclosure and use of personal information applicable to REI’s business, including federal and state laws in effect in any part of the United States; or (c) both.

Personal information includes:

REI Collects, Uses, and Discloses Personal Information to Sell its Products, Provide Products, and Provide Customer Service.

REI provides thermal paper products, including Direct Thermal Label Stock, Thermal Transfer Label Stock, and Thermal Transfer Ribbons. REI collects, uses, and discloses Personal Information to develop new business, accept and fulfill orders for its products, and provide customer service. As a result, REI may collect, store, process, and transfer Personal Information it obtains from customers.

REI Collects and Uses Personal Information as an Employer

REI collects personal information from applicants for employment and uses it, in different phases of the hiring process, to verify applicants’ identity, eligibility to work in the United States, and qualifications for employment. In addition, REI uses personal information provided by applicants to conduct pre-hiring background checks. No one is required to provide REI with this information. However, REI may not be able to process applications for employment and cannot offer employment to any person who does not provide the personal information required during the application process.

REI collects personal information from each employee necessary to discharge its obligations, exercise its rights as an employer, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Personal information collected from applicants for employment and employees includes the applicant’s or employee’s full name, social security number, residential address, phone numbers, and personal email addresses. In connection with administering employment benefits, REI may collect additional personal information concerning an employee’s spouse, domestic partner, children, and other dependents and beneficiaries.

REI may transfer personal information collected from applicants for employment and employees to service providers that conduct background checks, provide, or administer employment benefits, or provide other services related to REI’s operations as an employer.

Your Choices and Right to Control Your Personal Information

You always have the choice to provide or withhold Personal Information in your communications with REI, your interactions with REI’s websites, and on social media. For example, certain REI’s public facing websites and social media postings are accessible to the general public with no requirement to provide REI with information of any kind.

However, access to certain aspects of REI’s online presence and the delivery of certain REI publications, information, and products require that REI have certain Personal Information (e.g., REI cannot provide you with information you request by email without knowing your email address). In other cases, to comply with its legal obligation and as a matter of the responsible management of its business, REI makes information and products available subject to agreements that require you to provide certain Personal Information, so that REI knows who it is doing business with. If you choose not to provide REI with Personal Information as requested, you may not be able to access, obtain or use online resources, printed and electronic publications, information, or products REI provides to others.

If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from REI, you may opt-out from receiving such communications by using the opt-out mechanism in the message that you have received, or by sending email to [email protected]. REI will comply with your request promptly. However, if you opt out while you have an existing, ongoing relationship with REI (e.g., because you or your employer is a REI customer), REI will continue to communicate with you and to collect and use your Personal Information, as this Notice describes, for the purposes of that relationship.

Requests to review, revise, update, or delete Personal Information you previously provided to REI may be made by email to [email protected]. These requests may be made at any time and will be processed at no charge.

However, if you make such a request concerning your Personal Information that REI obtained from a customer, REI will respond to your request by referring it to the customer concerned and will alter Personal Information entrusted to it by customers solely as each customer instructs or as required by law.

Where REI is required to respond to you directly concerning your Personal Information, we will seek to verify your identity as the data subject or a person to act on the data subject’s behalf concerning that Personal Information.

Additional Information/Use of Cookies

REI may collect information that is not Personal Information – that is, data associated with use of REI’s products, websites or social media that is not associated with you or with any identified or identifiable person. For example, we may, without seeking any Personal Information, ask you about your interests, demographics, and experience with our products. We use this information to individualize user experience of our websites, target communications to interested recipients, and to develop or improve products.

We collect Personal Information and other information concerning your usage of REI websites, including your browser type, language and activity, your physical location and pages visited using Google Analytics, “cookies” and web beacons. We use this information to analyze how our websites are used and to individualize user experience. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by websites you visit and, in general, make websites work more efficiently and respond to your preferences. Cookies also provide information to the owners and operators of website. REI uses the information cookies provide to tailor its websites to your interests and to respond to your preferences.

A web beacon is an electronic image that can be used to recognize a cookie on your computer or other device when you view a web page or email.

You are not required to accept any cookie while browsing a REI website. If you prefer not to accept cookies, you can configure your browser to refuse cookies. or to warn you before accepting them. You can make some web beacons unusable by disabling cookies. However, if you refuse cookies REI uses in connection with its websites, the site may not work fully or as well in your browser.

Some web browsers may transmit “do-not-track” (DNT) signals to the websites with which the user communicates. Because of differences in how web browsers incorporate and activate this feature, it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted, or whether users are aware of them. We currently do not change our tracking practices in response to DNT settings in your web browser.

Our third party partners, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Constant Contact , may collect information about your online activities over time and across our website and other online properties. These third parties may not change their tracking practices in response to Do Not Track (DNT) settings in your web browser and we do not obligate these parties to honor DNT settings.

Advertisements displayed to you on this and other REI sites may be customized to your interests, preferences and Web site usage Information based on Personal Information collected through our Site, unless you opt out. To opt out, please send email to [email protected]. (You must opt-out using each of your Web browsing applications and devices separately.) However, if you opt-out we may still suggest offerings to you on our Site based on your history at our Site.

Security

Although we take steps to minimize risk to the security and integrity of Personal Information we collect, transmission of information using the internet is inherently risky. Information transmitted to REI or stored on the systems it owns or operates may be accessed or obtained by hackers or others who are not authorized to access, obtain or use it. If you have reason to believe that any interaction you have with REI or any REI site, product or service is not secure, please notify us immediately using the information in the “Contact Us” section of this notice.

If you correspond with us by e-mail, text message, or using Web forms like a “contact us” feature on our Site, your transmission might not be secure. A third party could view the information you send in transit by such means. We will have no liability for disclosure of your information or unauthorized acts of third parties during or after transmission.

If you create an account on our Site, you are responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality of your account password, and you are responsible for any activity that occurs using your account credentials, whether or not you authorized such activity. Please notify us of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security.

REI Does Not Collect Personal Information From or About Children

REI does offer any product to individuals under the age of 18. REI does not intend any website, social media posting, or other promotional communication for use by individuals under the age of 18 and does not knowingly collect Personal Information from or about them.

This Privacy Notice applies solely to REI. REI may provide links to websites and social media provided by unaffiliated businesses solely for informational purposes and as a convenience to users.

Do We Sell Personal Information?

REI does not sell Personal Information.

We do not sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age.

Under the CPRA, “sold” or “sale” means the disclosure of Personal Information for monetary or other valuable consideration, but does not include, for example, the transfer of Personal Information: (a) to a third party as you direct us to do, provided the third party does not also sell the personal information; (b) to third parties to let them know that you have opted out of the sale of your Personal Information; (c) to a service provider for a business purpose consistent with this notice and the service provider also does not sell the personal information; or (d) as an asset that is part of a merger, bankruptcy, or other disposition of all or any portion of our business.

Your Right to Know; Your Right To Delete; and Your Right To Opt-Out of Sale.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request that REI:

(1) Disclose to you the following information for the 12 months preceding your request (“Request to Know”):

We will verify that you are who you say you are by asking you for information that will enable us to verify your identity, as appropriate, depending on the sensitivity of your request. You may make a request on behalf of a child who is under 13 years old if you are the child’s parent or legal guardian. If you make a Request to Delete, we may ask you to verify your request before we delete your Personal Information.

If you are the authorized agent of a consumer, making a Request to Know or a Request to Delete on behalf of the consumer, we will ask you for:

  1. Proof of your registration with the California Secretary of State to conduct business in California; and
  2. Proof that the consumer has authorized you to make a Request to Know or a Request to Delete on the consumer’s behalf. This must be a permission signed by the consumer. “Signed” means that the permission has either been physically signed or provided electronically in accordance with the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, Civil Code 1633.7 et seq.

If an authorized agent has not provided us with a power of attorney from the consumer pursuant to Probate Code sections 4000-4465, we may also:

  1. Require the consumer to provide you with a written permission signed by the consumer to make the request on the consumer’s behalf;
  2. Verify the identity of the consumer as we would if the consumer were making the request personally; and
  3. Obtain verification from the consumer that they provided the authorized agent permission to make the request.

We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law. Except where required to act otherwise by law, if REI obtained your Personal Information in connection with an engagement to provide products to a customer, REI will notify the customer concerned of your request and respond to your request as that customer reasonably requests, including by referring your request to the customer. In all cases, REI respond to your request as the CCPA and CPRA require.

How to Opt-out Of Our Sale Of Your Personal Information

Under the CCPA and CPRA, you have the right to be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising your rights.

Your “Shine The Light” Rights

California’s “Shine the Light” law, Civil Code section 1798.83, requires certain businesses to respond to requests from California customers asking about the businesses’ practices related to disclosing personal information to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. Alternately, such businesses may have in place a policy not to disclose personal information of customers to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes if the customer has exercised an option to opt-out of such information-sharing. Your Right To Request Removal of Content

If you are a resident of California, under 18, and a registered user of the services, you may ask us to remove content or information that you have posted to REI sites by writing to [email protected]. Please note that your request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information, as, for example, some of your content may have been reposted by another user.
